“And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.”

No what I love about this scripture? Nephi said he would go and do anything the Lord told him to do, then in the next chapter, it turns out, Nephi had *no idea* how to do it! He knew he had to get the plates from Laban, but he and his brothers couldn’t figure out how to do it… until Nephi was “lead by the Spirit, not knowing beforehand the things which I should do.” Sometimes, the way prepared for us by the Lord isn’t as obvious as I sometimes assume it should be, but can only be found by following the Spirit.
