But the idea that a well-spoken, friendly, and seemingly invincible leader can solve everything for us is very appealing, and today's society is not accustomed to disciplining itself and paying attention to reality. Anyone with even a rudimentary education in history knows the dangers of delegating too much authority to anyone, but we often do illogical things, so it should follow that those lessons are either forgotten or ignored. I honestly wish I could, but I can't. This is part and parcel of living in the Last Days and I need to remind myself not to whine. After all, I was reserved for this time period and I'm pretty sure it's because I wanted it that way. I believe that somewhere, out there, there are people who are being prepared to come forward when we need them most. Some of those people may be reading and contributing to this blog. People like Moroni who "was a strong and a mighty man; he was a ma of a perfect understanding; yea, a man that did not delight in bloodshed; a man whose soul did joy in the liberty and the freedom of his country, and his brethren from bondage and slavery; Yea, a man whose heart did swell with thanksgiving to his God, for the many privileges and blessings which he bestowed upon his people; a man who did labor exceedingly for the welfare and safety of his people. Yea, and he was a man who was firm in the faith of Christ, and he had sworn with an oath to defend his people, his rights, and his country, and his religion, even to the loss of his blood."
